Jesus And The Attributes Of God Argument

Prophetic/Timing Arguments

Why do Timing Arguments Matter?

Timing arguments matter because they show God's perfect knowledge and intelligience. If God really did visit the earth in human form it would be prudent for him to choose an efficient timing to appear to us. In order to act most efficiently with free humans, he would have to appear in the perfect timing to get his message across, if Jesus passes this test, that serves as evidence for Jesus being God.

Ancient Deities

If God wanted to spread his message most effectively, he would most likely pick a time period where his attributes would be known as god attributes, so he could be recognized as having these attributes they expected him to have.

              What are the attributes?

The common attributes to be expected of a god to possess were at least one of these fifteen attributes: Inevitable, Imperial, Inexplicable, Insulated, Inveigled, Identified, Incredible, Interactor, Instructive, Indemnifier, Indicted, Inviter, Immortal, Intercessor, and indicter.

Examples: Predicted by Prophecy, Born by unnatural means, Protected as an infant, Faced temptation, Was associated with Shepherds, Possessed supernatural power, Engaged and taught humans directly, recognized the need for a sacrifice, Faced a trial, Had the power to defeat death, Offered eternal life, and Judged the living and dead.

              Who had these attributes?

3300 BCE: Osiris (10/15 attributes)

3000 BCE: Tammuz (9/15 attributes)

2230 BCE: Shanqdi (6/15 attributes)

1800 BCE: Marduk (5/15 attributes)

1400 BCE: Indha (4/15 attributes)

400 BCE: Buddha (10/15 attributes)

350 BCE: Serapis (6/10 attributes)

4 BCE: Jesus (15/15 attributes)

Jesus

Over time, all of these deity’s revealed certain aspects about the true nature of God, and it wasn’t until the late period of the ancient ages until all of these aspects of God were well known through mythology did Jesus appear on the scene. Jesus had all of the expected attributes of God, when no others were able to create a myth that possessed all of these (let alone a living person). Jesus possessing all of the expected qualities of God, and appearing at the right time in history, suggests if the evidence for God’s existence is true then it certainly is Jesus.
